Nice to meet you

My name is Jazz Howington (she/her), and I’m a Savannah GA based Product Design Leader and Strategist with 12+ years of design experience. I’ve learned over the years that I really love helping others succeed, whether it's users of a product, or helping my team learn and grow. My passion for process improvement is what led me to UX, and the thrill of tackling difficult challenges is why I stayed. I tend to thrive in the chaotic atmosphere of a startup, introducing order and process as it makes sense for the business.

And while I am currently a design executive, I’m not afraid to roll up my sleeves and dive into project work as needed. I use design to help an organization make better decisions around ‘why’ we are building something. My true value as a design leader is my ability to collaborate with my peers, facilitate difficult conversations, and drive a solution that balances business goals and user needs. I firmly believe that Design isn't an equation where there’s a right answer or a wrong answer. It's about exploration of the possibilities, finding the solution that works in the moment, and it’s a journey I love every day.

“Jazz makes herself available to help with any challenges that arise. She is a thoughtful contributor and leader. She communicates frequently and consistently via Slack and is always willing to jump on a call to walk through items that require more in-depth conversations.”

Jazz’s form of communication is extremely thoughtful, careful, and genuine.
— 2021 Annual Peer Review

“I think Jazz has really stepped up in a lot of different spaces, that weren't always necessarily required for her. For instance on self-managed, in some ways I think she has helped drive some big conversations particularly in shining light on/ documenting all the assumptions"

I am extremely comfortable going to Jazz for help. She creates and fosters an extremely safe environment that enables participants to have open ended discussions that lead to productive outcomes.
— Previous Coworker

“Jazz's strengths is her ability to align various teams towards a unified goal by encouraging participants to take a step back, document goals, and then remember the underlying goals as we work through projects”
